Casey is a New York-based journalist covering finance and cryptocurrency. She is a senior reporter at online publication Blockworks where she focuses on digital asset policy and regulation.

Previously, Casey covered markets at Bloomberg News on the cross-asset team. She wrote a daily markets update as well as feature stories on exchange-traded funds, investing trends and the day-trader community. As the only college-aged intern, she also quickly became the journalist assigned to any stories on crypto, a topic about which she knew next to nothing.

Today she can confidently say she still knows little about the ever-evolving, dynamic and, at times, perfunctory crypto industry, and she’d argue that anyone who claims otherwise is lying. But she has cultivated valuable sources, she’s a fast learner and she loves getting to the bottom of a story, especially ones as dubious as those that crypto companies so often tout, traits which have allowed her to cultivate her beat and carve out a niche in the world of digital asset media.

When she is not writing, Casey can be found training for her next marathon, which often comes in the form of chasing her Maltese, Anderson Cooper, around the dog park.

Casey received a B.A. in Media Studies from the University of Virginia.
